FAQ

Should I ask my doctor what type of pillow my child should use?
Yes, Wollip, LLC recommends that you ask your doctor if your child should sleep on a big pillow made for adults or one specifically designed for kids.

How old do you have to be to use a pillow?
Most healthcare professionals agree that a child needs be at least 2 years old and MUST BE OUT OF A CRIB!

What if my doctor/chiropractor/pediatrician does not offer or have current information about pillows for children?
You can have them contact us or go to our website and fill out a patient to doctor referral form. This will alert Wollip, LLC to send out a packet to your doctor about Columns Pillows™ and the importance of properly sized pillows for children.

Which side does my child sleep on?
The flat side of the pillow is down. You sleep on the side with the slight elevations (curves). The Columns Logo Tag will be upright.

Should my child sleep their back, side or stomach?
Back or side sleeping is appropriate. Sleep in the position that is most comfortable for the child. Most healthcare practitioners do not recommend stomach sleeping.

Why does memory foam sometimes have an odor? How long can it last? Is it harmful?
The odor from the foam is normal and gradually disappears when the pillow is removed from the packaging and aired out. The odor is not harmful and is non-toxic. The odor should be gone totally in a few weeks.

Can I wash the pillow?
No, do not wash the pillow. The cover is removable and machine washable. See instructions on pillow cover and pillowcase.

Can there be color variations or changes in the foam over time?
It’s normal for foam to have color differences and foam can discolor overtime. Your pillow is still good and does not need to be replaced.

What happens if the pillow gets wet?
Take off the cover and gently twist memory foam to remove water. Allow the pillow to dry in a well ventilated area for 5-7 days or until completely dry. Wash the cover and case according to instruction tags.

What if my child is bigger or smaller than average? Which pillow should I choose?
Columns 4 Stage Sleep System™ is designed for groups of children that are divided into 4 pillows called Stages. Stages are based on averages in height, weight, age, neck and head size, and length of vertebral columns. Packaging is color coded and gives parents an easy option when choosing the right pillow for their child. Simply choose the pillow based on your child’s age.

We do recommend that if your child is big or small for their age that you pick the size either one size bigger or smaller. In our sample studies we found that children will go up a size compared to down a size, if any. If your child’s age is at the end of the range for the Stage age range (4 for the 2-4, 7 for the 5-7, 11for the 8-11) then read the following for hints if your child is bigger than most of his/her peers.

If your child is 4 and bigger than most 4 year olds then move them into Stage II. If your child is 7 and bigger than most 7 year olds move them into the Stage III. If your child is 11 and bigger than most 11 year olds move them into Stage IV. Graduate them early to the next Stage. If you are having trouble deciding which pillow your child needs, ask your healthcare professional for help.

How long will the Columns Pillows last? What is the warranty?
If taken care of, memory foam will last for years. Our pillows come with 90 day warranty against any manufacturer defects (ex.: splitting and cracking). Pillows are very personal items and may not be returned.
